Cocktail of Emotions

Cocktail of Emotions

She was jealous of her

Yet she could not speak of this jealousy

She could not speak of this heresy

Of finding the soulmate that is hers

She could not or perhaps will not act sensibly

She let herself have what is hers

Knowing it was callous

She whispered: “the Lord is merciful”

As she kneels to pray

She is overcome with guilt

Over her humanness she wraps the quilt

Unable to pray

She resolves from him to split

Hoping to find some bliss

Which was elusive

He was happy without her

And she was bitter

She was angry with the misery

Of loving one that is happy with another

The bliss she hoped to find remains elusive

Then she was joyful

That he thought she was special still

That his happiness was but a façade

So he tells their friends: “am not happy without her”

And this makes her smile, sigh with an air of triumph
